Who owns the plants
FSIS records an establishment name, not an owner. The names of the large integrators are distinctive enough to match, and this page does that: 31 companies, 236 of the 1,495 USDA-inspected slaughter plants in the registry. The rest are independent plants, cooperatives and small operators, which is the point of the registry.
