Who reads these pages
Two kinds of buyers land on a plant record. Farmers and ranchers checking whether a plant slaughters their species, takes custom-exempt work, and what the booking calendar looks like. And households who have decided to buy a half or a quarter and are working backward from the nearest plant to the farms that haul there.
Every plant page carries your establishment number, the species you report to FSIS, your address and phone, a link to your website, and the profile written from your public site. A claimed record adds what the federal directory cannot say: your actual minimums, cut-and-wrap rates, vacuum or paper, retail counter hours, and the months you book out.
How placement works
The registry order is alphabetical inside each county and never sold. A featured listing is a separate pinned slot above the record, one per county, labeled as featured so readers know the position was purchased. Featured plants also take the top card in the distance finder for searches within 100 miles of the plant.
Verified listings carry a mark on the profile and in every list they appear in, and their profile text is written with the operator rather than from the public website alone. Both tiers are billed monthly or annually and can be cancelled at any time; the free record remains.
Questions
Why is my plant already listed?
The registry is built from the public USDA FSIS Meat, Poultry and Egg Product Inspection Directory. Every establishment with a federal grant of inspection for slaughter appears automatically with its establishment number, address, phone, species, and exemptions as reported to FSIS. Where your public website exists we also wrote a profile from it.
What does claiming cost?
Nothing. Claiming lets you correct the record and confirm the details we hold. Verified ($29 a month or $290 a year) and featured ($99 a month or $990 a year) are paid tiers billed by Stripe; they renew automatically and cancel any time from the billing portal. The free record never goes away and is never demoted for not paying.
Can I remove my plant?
The federal directory is a public record and we republish it as such, so a plant with an active grant stays in the registry. You can correct anything that is wrong and ask us to remove any profile text drawn from your website.
How is a featured listing labeled?
Featured listings carry a visible featured mark wherever they appear pinned, so readers know the position was purchased. Ranking in the registry itself is never sold; the pinned slot sits above the alphabetical record.
Do you list state-inspected plants?
Not yet. The federal directory does not include state-inspected plants. If you operate under a state program, use the claim form and we will add you to the state page as we build those lists.
