What we collect

  • Usage data. We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta Pixel to understand how the site is used. These tools collect device, browser, page, and approximate location information and may set cookies.
  • Outbound clicks. When you follow a link to a producer through our /go/ links, we record the click (page, destination, time, approximate location, and device type) so we can measure referrals. We do not record what you do on the producer's site.
  • Forms. If you contact us or submit a listing, we keep what you send us (name, email, farm or plant details) to respond and to maintain the registry.
  • Location. The finder can use your browser's location to sort plants by distance. That coordinate is used in your browser only and is not sent to us.

How we use it

To operate and improve the site, to maintain the registry, to measure referrals, and to reach visitors with advertising for this site on other platforms. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

You can block cookies in your browser, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage Meta ad preferences in your Meta account. California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information by emailing hello@localmeat.org.
