About Wayguud Custom Meat LLC
Wayguud Custom Meat LLC, doing business as Greenfield Custom Meat, operates at 2965 W. Amity Road in Meridian, Idaho, in Ada County. The plant holds FSIS establishment numbers M11033 and P11033 for meat processing and meat slaughter, with a grant of inspection date on file of July 26, 2021. FSIS lists the establishment as very small and records cattle as the species slaughtered under inspection, with a slaughter volume category of under 1,000 head per year. The plant also reports custom-exempt slaughter, in which animals owned by the customer are processed and packages are marked Not for Sale, and reports retail-exempt sales.
The business website describes two lines of work: USDA and custom beef processing for people who bring their own animals or who buy beef the shop sources, and a retail storefront stocked with Angus and Wagyu/Angus cross beef along with pork products. The site states the shop has operated since 1967 in the Treasure Valley and is family owned, and describes itself as a full-service USDA-inspected facility offering slaughter and private labeling for local farms. The website credits five decades of operation, while the federal grant of inspection under the current establishment name dates to 2021.
Processing details on the website include cut sheets for whole, half, and quarter beef, vacuum sealing of cuts and roasts, ground beef packaged in one pound, one and a half pound, or two pound chubs, dry aging or hang time of 10 to 14 or more days, and freezing immediately after packaging. Hams, hocks, and bacon are described as cured with a maple brown sugar cure and smoked in house.

For farmers and ranchers
The website instructs producers to bring cattle to the facility live, after which the shop reports the hanging weight and processes to the submitted cut sheet. A deposit of $100 per head is required to book an appointment and is applied toward the kill fee, with established USDA customers exempt. Listed custom processing charges are $100 per head kill fee, $1.10 per pound boneless cut and wrap and $1.35 per pound bone-in cut and wrap based on hang weight, with October, November, and December rates of $1.30 boneless and $1.55 bone-in. A 650 pound minimum hang weight charge applies and quarters incur a $25 split fee. USDA-inspected processing is listed at $100 per head kill fee with $1.20 per pound boneless and $1.45 per pound bone-in cut and wrap, the same 650 pound minimum and $25 quarter split fee. USDA customers may supply their own logo for vacuum-sealed packaging and casings, or receive the Greenfield USDA logo, and may direct the shop to work with their own customers on cut instructions. If beef is divided into quarters, each side must have identical cut sheets. Scheduling is handled through an online system that shows appointment history and beef weights. FSIS records cattle as the only species slaughtered under inspection; the website does not state whether live hogs are accepted for slaughter.
Wayguud Custom Meat LLC reports custom-exempt slaughter to FSIS, which means it can process an animal a customer already owns (a whole, half, or share bought before slaughter) and return it in packages marked Not for Sale. Most small farms have one or two plants they book with, and the plant's calendar decides the delivery date.
For households
The website describes a retail storefront stocked with Angus and Wagyu/Angus cross beef and pork products, and states the shop can source beef from local family owned farms for customers who do not raise their own. Beef shares are listed at $5.95 per pound hanging weight for whole and half beef, which includes the beef at $4.85 and processing at $1.10, with a whole estimated at roughly 450 to 500 pounds of take-home beef and an estimated investment of $5,950, and a half at roughly 200 to 250 pounds for an estimated $2,975. Split half or quarter beef is listed at $6.15 per pound hanging weight, roughly 125 pounds of beef for an estimated $1,537, on a standard cut sheet with no modifications and a choice between tri tip or flank. Bone-in cut and wrap adds $0.25 per pound on hang weight. Pork shares are listed at $910 total investment for a whole hog with a $100 deposit and an estimated $455 for a half with a $50 deposit, returning roughly 100 to 135 pounds and 50 to 75 pounds of meat respectively. The website does not state delivery, shipping, or online checkout for individual retail cuts.
If you are buying a half or quarter animal, the plant is where the animal is processed; the farm sells you the animal. Read how to buy a half cow for the sequence and the math.
